A handy tool for installing deck boards with no visible face fasteners. This tool allows the installer to predrill on the inside corner edge of deck boards. Once the angled "toe-in" predrill hole is drilled using this tool as the guide, a Deckwise Stainless Colormatch Trim Screw can be screwed down through the corner of the deck board and into the joist (similar to toe-screwing or toe-nailing hardwood flooring). The tool is suitable for 5.5" wide decking only, such as our 1x6 and 5/4x6 Ipe and Sandeka decking.
The tool's sqeezable trigger widens the grip for placement removal. Once the tool is in place the trigger is released and the tool grabs tightly onto the deck board. Angled guide holes at either end of the tool guide a drill bit into the top inside corner of both board edges.
A 9/64" drill bit is recommended to provide sufficient drill depth and diameter for hardwood decking.
